If you had listened to the Kooks debut, thought it was the best album of the 2000`s and happy with that, then went up a mountain to find yourself and your inner being, only to return in 2008 after total media blackout to the sold out Delorentos gig in Cypress Avenue, you’d be forgiven for thinking that the Kooks had suddenly acquired Irish accents and were touring in Cork. But the bass drum and bass guitar in this band resonate with your new harmonized self, because this band is bloody good, they’ve got the energy, the rhythm rumbles deep, God knows who’s playing the guitar lead line, or singing, and as evidenced by the number of young women in the crowd they look good. This band didn’t win the Meteor award (they told us) and the crowd wasn’t that disappointed, because they love this band, they sold out Cypress Avenue that says it all.
