The Flaws

vido

The Flaws are a four-piece from Co Monaghan, Ireland. The band released their debut self financed EP in summer 2005, a total of 300 copies only. The 4 track EP won a host of admirers with instantly hummable tunes like ‘16’, & ‘Idolise’ alongside ‘Everybody’s Got to be Somewhere’ and ‘Fed to the Lions’ which show the great scope of the bands sound. National airplay quickly followed on Today FM with presenter Alison Curtis describing the lead track ‘16’ as “brilliant, one of the best Irish tracks of 2005”.

A hugely successful set at the 2005 Hard Working Class Hero’s festival has seen them hailed as one of the top 3 bands of the weekend in the Irish Times helping them garner support slots with the likes of Nine Black Alps and Nada Surf. Label interest followed resulting in the band being signed to Polydor and its Irish sister label Sound Foundation Recordings late in 2005. Lead singer Paul Finn commenting “the right record deal for us is about working with the right people, all four of us feel that Polydor and Sound Foundation Recordings are the right people for us.”

Their debut single ‘No Room’ is released in Ireland on March 24th as a calling card and is limited to 1,000 copies. The band take to the road for a 6 date tour from March 18th - 28th but are warming up with some U.K shows in early March with Nightmare of You. Work on their debut album begins in Grouse Lodge in April with acclaimed Irish producer Garret Mannix who has worked with Republic Of Loose, Humanzi, and The Thrills among many.
